Rooted & Informed exists because of a gap: what social work programs teach and what clinical work actually demands rarely match, and most people are left to close that gap alone. This platform is built to close this gap so that we can be rooted in experience and informed by practice. Here, you will find support for licensure and career guidance, supervision and documentation tools, ethics frameworks, and resources for building a workflow you can actually sustain.

I'm Daniela J. Trotman, a licensed clinical social worker, author, and educator. My work sits where clinical rigor meets human warmth, because real care requires both. Every resource here comes not from theory alone, but from direct clinical practice, supervision, and teaching.

For years I've worked with clients, students, and new graduates finding their footing in the field. What I kept seeing were clinicians doing meaningful work without enough support, so Rooted & Informed is what I built for them. It's grounded in lived experience and real practice. It's honest, intentional, and built to respect both your intelligence and your humanity. You won't find performative perfection here. Just resources that actually meet you where you are.
